It is obtained through The Western red Cedar Association in Canada who responsibly preserves and manages the cedar forests.

The ‘Phoenix’ is made from a laminated Phoenix wood, sometimes called the Parasol wood. It grows in sub tropical areas of the southern states of the USA, China and Japan, where it reaches full height and maturity in about 15 years which is ideal for farming.

The ‘Hollywood’ range is made from ABS (a plastic polymer) and internally stiffened with Cedar strips left over from the Vancouver production. Although essentially a ‘plastic’ product produced to withstand the harsher elements of home life, we still choose to paint the shutters to give them a more attractive appearance.
