…Huts in the Hills approached us with their ideas for blinds for their newly completed luxury Swiss-style glamping hut ‘The Hütte’, we were excited to be a part of their superb project.
The Hütte
The newly completed hut does, in their words, ‘offer Swiss-style luxury in Northumberland. This two-storey magnificent shepherd’s hut delivers outstanding views’
With large windows and bi-fold doors, the views of the surrounding Northumberland countryside are truly breathtaking, but since there is a need for privacy too, the owners were keen to have window coverings for their glamping guests that were as unobtrusive as possible.

We knew straight away what the answer to this shading and privacy needs would be – Duette® Blinds. With their minimal open profile, there would be the slimmest of blind to obscure the scenery beyond.
1. The Customers Choice
From the huge colour range, the customers chose a soft grey-blue shade to perfectly complement the kitchen cupboards’ distressed wood finish.
2. The Installation
The installation of the blinds has enhanced the gorgeous interior. Adding privacy when needed, as well as additional insulation at the glazing for colder months.
3. Easy operation
These soft shades can be raised or lowered to any part of the window. Duette® Blinds can be manually or electronically operated by remote control.

About the Hütte
The Hütte takes luxury glamping to a completely new level. Watch the sunrise from the comfort of your bed or from the outdoor bath. Or sneak into the secret star-gazing den to watch the stars shine under the official dark skies of the Northumberland National Park.
With stunning interior features and beautiful design ideas including copper gutters, a mirrored television and a traditional stone roof. Outside you can relax in the antique bath on the large veranda or snuggle by the outdoor fire pit.
Perched on nine mushroom-shaped staddle stones, The Hütte is full of luxurious features: Egyptian cotton sheets on a Kingsize bed, gas burning hob, electric oven, fridge, hot power shower, wood-burning stove (and a flushing indoor high-level toilet).
A welcome pack of tea, coffee, butter and bread will be ready in your hut on arrival. Delicious meals and breakfast baskets made on the farm, from local ingredients, can be ordered to be delivered to your hut.
The Hütte is our most dramatic shepherd’s hut and will make your short break incredibly memorable. A place where you’ll be inspired by nature and revitalised by comfort.
